Co-Owner · Rogue Pet Science

Blake Jackson

Blake Jackson co-founded Rogue Pet Science with Nate Dewsbury after the two met in a Galveston, Texas gym in 2005 — both already deep into their own health and nutrition, both already deep into dogs. He's the counterweight to the lab side of the company: the one asking whether a formula holds up in a real bowl, on a real dog, in a real household.

Where it started

Blake Jackson met Nate Dewsbury in a Galveston, Texas gym in 2005. Two people already deep into their own health and nutrition, already deep into dogs, comparing notes on both. That conversation is the reason this company exists.

They had both tried every food and every diet with their own dogs, and both kept landing in the same place: something was still wrong with what was in the bowl. Nate could explain why on a molecular level. Blake could see what it looked like in a working dog's performance, condition and recovery.

The part most brands skip

Blake's position on the pet industry is not subtle, and he doesn't soften it. There is no shortage of personalities in dog health with an audience — and almost none of them have developed a product, run a study, or put a proven solution in front of owners at a price real people can pay. Talking about the problem is not the same as fixing it.

That's the standard he holds Rogue to. Not "would this sell," but "does this hold up in real bowls, on real dogs, across real breeds and routines." A formula that only works on paper doesn't ship.

He handles operations, partnerships, and sales, and he's the one you'll usually hear on a podcast or an interview explaining why gut health drives so much of what owners think are unrelated problems.

What he'd tell you

"We would never make something just to market a product that pet owners might buy. We are a pet health product development company that happens to market proven products."
