Our process is even more difficult to do than normal pelleting, because we use a method called “ cold pressed pelleting.” This modified process avoids a steam cooking step used in other industries. This would denature ingredients and cause moisture to be added, thus causing more processing steps and preservative to make a shelf stable product. This isn’t needed!

The short answer is, it’s very hard to do this! Very few companies, let alone industry people, have the expertise to make this process of pelleting work for companion animal products. The Rogue founder is one of those people who has helped other industries and companies the world over to pelletize food for other animal species.

The advantages of the pelleting process makes it an ideal manufacturing method for all pet products, including treats and our pellets. The primary benefit of pelleting, it removes the need to use unnecessary heating of ingredients to make them stick together, which would only denature the ingredients, but also avoids creating more surface bonds with other ingredients used. By avoiding traditional treat manufacturing methods (hard extrusion, soft treat extrusions, baking, etc) Rogue creates an ideal treat that avoids the use of binders, preservatives, denaturing the ingredients while avoiding the formation of extra bonds that would only resist digestion breakdown in your pet.

Origins more than safe for cats, it’s ideal given the source of wild fatty acids and the high availability of both Taurine and Vitamin D. Cats also experience the same improvements and secondary health benefits as their canine counterparts.

The feeding recommendations for cats is 1 teaspoon per day per adult cat. Young and growing cats should feed Origins at 1/2 teaspoon per day per cat until 9 months old, then switch to the adult recommended level.

Start cats off slow over the course of 3-5 days. This will ensure the highest success level of introduction into your cats daily diet. Water can be added as you see fit to improve palatability.
